NH Nonghyup Card Receives Minister of the Interior and Safety Commendation for '2020 Big Data Activation Merit'

Continued Promotion of Support Projects for Public Big Data Activation

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] NH Nonghyup Card announced on the 25th that it was the sole private institution to receive the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award in the data analysis category of the '2020 Big Data Activation Merit'.

Nonghyup Card was recognized for its contribution to laying the foundation for public big data analysis projects by timely providing the Ministry of the Interior and Safety with emergency disaster relief fund data and control data based on general card usage details, supporting big data analysis, and understanding the impact of the emergency disaster relief fund.

To process emergency disaster relief fund data, Nonghyup Card has deployed dedicated analysis personnel for more than six months and invested the maximum available human and material resources to carry out support projects for the activation of public big data.

It has supported data-driven decision-making by providing a total of 13 datasets to enable effective policy research by public institutions and local governments, and in October last year, it began diversifying related businesses by launching the first data product sale through the Financial Data Exchange.

Meanwhile, to promote digital financial innovation emphasized since the inauguration of Kwon Joon-hak, President of Nonghyup Bank, Nonghyup Card plans to strengthen its data business competitiveness by enhancing big data analysis capabilities and providing insights based on regional economy and distribution, leveraging Nonghyup's unique big data assets that evenly reflect data from all 17 cities and provinces.
