Expressing Commitment to Achieve ESG Management through 'Green Balance 2030'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] SK Innovation announced on the 24th that it has launched a New Year PR campaign featuring 'K-Green,' symbolizing an eco-friendly Republic of Korea, reflecting its commitment to achieving the growth strategy 'Green Balance 2030' through deep change.

K-Green signifies South Korea leading globally in eco-friendliness. SK Innovation explained, "Through K-Green, we convey a message of overcoming the difficulties caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and supporting the struggling people, with the proud strength of the Republic of Korea."

SK Innovation stated, "Through this campaign, we express our determination to establish ourselves as a leading company symbolizing K-Green, the eco-friendly emblem of Korea, by strongly implementing Green Balance, a strategy that completes the company's growth and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals."

SK Innovation's Green Balance strategy is a mid- to long-term growth plan aiming to completely offset negative environmental impacts by 2030. It means growing through deep change in eco-friendly business sectors.

In practice, SK Innovation is focusing on nurturing the battery industry company-wide with the goal of 'Green Energy and Green Materials,' and each business division is working to restructure and revise business operations toward the direction of 'More Green, Less Carbon.'
