[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, joined the 'GOGO Relay' campaign, a 탈(脫)-plastic practice movement aimed at fundamentally reducing disposable products and plastics, on the 19th.

The GOGO Relay campaign, which is spreading nationwide from the Minister of Environment's pledge message to central government ministries, local governments, companies, and environmental organizations to promote consensus and transition to a 탈plastic society, proceeds by promising one action to stop and one action to start in daily life to reduce plastic use, and then nominating the next participant.

Gangdong-gu is currently conducting an eco-friendly campaign (Blue Mailbox) together with Oral-B, TerraCycle, and Cool City Gangdong Network. Among them, Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, who was nominated by Korea P&G, the parent company of Oral-B, participated in the campaign holding a sign with the slogan "Reduce disposable cup use (GO)! Use a tumbler (GO)!" and nominated Baek Myung-soon, representative of the Environmental Owner Citizen Group, Kim In-ho, Chairman of Seoul City Council, and Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, as the next participants.

Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon of Gangdong-gu stated, "Reducing disposable cup use and using tumblers in daily life, small practical actions, can bring great changes to the environment. I ask everyone to join the 탈plastic movement," and added, "The district will also take the lead and do its best to reduce disposable products and plastics in the future."
