BBQ's Untact Strategy Works... Delivery and Takeout Specialty Store 'BSK' Gains Popularity

BBQ Delivery and Takeout Specialty Store 'BSK' Surpasses 250 Contracts Within 6 Months of Launch

BBQ's Untact Strategy Works... Delivery and Takeout Specialty Store 'BSK' Gains Popularity

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Genesis BBQ announced on the 22nd that the number of new contracts for 'BSK,' a delivery (transmission) and takeout specialized store, has surpassed 250 cases in about six months.

BSK stands for BBQ Smart Kitchen, a delivery and takeout specialized store tailored to contactless consumption in the post-COVID-19 era. Since its official launch on June 22, BSK quickly attracted the interest of prospective entrepreneurs by surpassing 50 contracts in just over a month. By December of last year, six months after the launch, the number of new contracts exceeded 250, creating a startup boom.

BSK stores are small-scale, ranging from 26㎡ (8 pyeong) to 40㎡ (12 pyeong), specializing exclusively in delivery and takeout without dine-in (hall) customers, which makes store operation and management highly efficient. Additionally, the range of location options is broad, significantly reducing initial investment and fixed costs such as deposits, key money, and monthly rent. As a result, startups are possible with a small capital of around 50 million KRW, gaining strong interest and response not only from existing family (franchise owners) but also from prospective entrepreneurs in their 20s and 30s.

According to BBQ, more than half of the BSK contractors are in their 20s and 30s. A BBQ official explained, "Based on the activation of delivery service platforms and contactless consumption trends due to COVID-19, the MZ generation, who are familiar with online marketing using delivery apps, seem to choose to start a business by highly valuing the verified brand trust of BBQ and the profitability and safety of BSK."

Currently, BSK stores are recording an average monthly sales of over 50 million KRW per store, generating stable and high profits.

A BBQ official stated, "With the milestone of surpassing 250 BSK contracts, a post-COVID-19 tailored model, we will inject new vitality into the stagnant startup market and contribute to the national economy. We will continue to support families who have been struggling due to the spread of COVID-19 since early last year and continue our community contribution activities."
