Seoul City Conditionally Approves District Unit Plan for Songpa Geoyeo District
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] A transit-oriented youth housing complex with 134 units will be built in Geoyeo-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul.
On the 22nd, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it conditionally approved the amendment to the urban management plan (district unit plan) for the transit-oriented youth housing project at 26-1 Geoyeo-dong, Songpa-gu (site area 920.5㎡) during the first Transit-Oriented Youth Housing Authorization Subcommittee meeting held the previous day.
The Housing Supply Division of the Housing and Architecture Headquarters of Seoul City stated, "We required a revised action plan regarding the appropriateness of the locations of the cooperative parking lot and the disabled parking spaces."
After reviewing Seoul City's action plan and the district unit plan is officially decided and announced, the project operator will be able to start the youth housing project. If related procedures such as building permits from Songpa-gu Office are completed, move-in is expected to be possible by January 2024.
Meanwhile, transit-oriented youth housing refers to housing supplied to non-homeowning youth aged 19 to 39 and newlyweds by easing regulations and developing areas near transit stations with convenient public transportation access. These units are offered at prices lower than the surrounding market rates, and communal facilities for residents are also planned for their convenience.
