Lotte Construction Silver Housing Unit Floor Plan Development
Lotte Construction announced on the 21st that it has developed unit floor plans for silver housing in preparation for entering a super-aged society.
There are three concepts: 'one room ? one bath,' which minimizes the movement between the bedroom and bathroom for the elderly; 'social living room,' a space designed for inviting family and friends or hosting various gatherings; and 'bespoke balcony,' planned to allow residents to experience various outdoor leisure activities.
The one room ? one bath floor plan is characterized by minimizing the movement between the bedroom and bathroom. Considering the strong independence of today's elderly, each personal space, including the bathroom, is provided. It can also be used as a share house where family or friends live together, reflecting changes in household composition and the increase in single-person households.
The social living room features a semi-public space within the unit designed for inviting external family and friends or for various gatherings.
The bespoke balcony provides a private park within the unit. Due to factors such as fine dust and COVID-19, outdoor activities have decreased for the elderly, so they can experience various outdoor leisure activities such as gardening, pet care, and home training inside their homes.
Lotte Construction explained, "The focus was on the interior living space where actual daily life takes place, developing a product differentiated from general multi-family housing," and added that they have established a floor plan concept unique to silver housing, distinct from general multi-family housing or nursing facilities.
The newly developed silver housing unit floor plans are scheduled to be applied for the first time to approximately 900 units of silver housing supplied within the Magok MICE (an acronym encompassing Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) complex.
