[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Mnet's 'Captain' announced a voting error one day before the final live broadcast.

Mnet's audition program 'Captain' stated on the official website on the 20th, "During the process of checking the voting data ahead of the final live broadcast, we identified an error in the voting data management program," and added, "We have decided not to reflect the entire data in the final broadcast."

They continued, "Until now, the contestants' pass or fail status has been determined by the judges' evaluations, so the voting data did not affect the results at all."

Originally, 'Captain' planned to determine the winner by combining judges' evaluations (40%), viewer text votes (35%), and pre-support votes through the 'Captain' website and the 'Oing' website (25%) in the final voting.

The problematic part was the pre-support voting conducted through 'Oing' since November last year. Mnet discovered an error in the voting data management program of 'Oing' while checking the voting data ahead of the live broadcast.

Accordingly, Mnet invalidated all pre-voting data through 'Oing' and decided to reflect only the pre-voting data through 'Captain' with a 25% weight in the overall score.

Regarding this, an Mnet official said, "While reviewing the data collectively ahead of the final broadcast on the 14th, we found that the cumulative number of votes decreased as the dates passed."
