[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Singer Yoo Seung-jun (Steve Yoo), who had been pouring criticism on the Korean government and politicians, suddenly challenged himself with a 'ramen mukbang'.
On the 20th, Yoo Seung-jun uploaded a video titled "I mindlessly devoured 10 bowls of instant noodles. Challenge of 10!" on his YouTube channel.
In the video, Yoo Seung-jun, along with three acquaintances, took on the ramen eating challenge and said, "Today, for the first time, I will try a cup noodle mukbang." He explained the reason for filming the mukbang as, "Things have been too serious lately, so I want to make you laugh a little. Just taking a short break."
While eating ramen, Yoo Seung-jun burst out laughing and spilled some noodles, then laughed heartily and joked with his friends. He said, "Ramen tastes best when eaten all at once," adding, "You have to eat it all at once like me. The moment the water boils, your stomach gets full." His acquaintances smiled at the amusing situation.
While eating his fourth bowl of ramen, Yoo Seung-jun said, "The noodles suddenly turned into jajangmyeon or udon," but he continued to eagerly put the noodles into his mouth.

"I get drowsy while talking," "Honestly, I've never eaten ramen this freely before," Yoo Seung-jun continued the mukbang but gave up the '10 bowls challenge' after finishing six bowls.
Holding up the cup noodle he was eating, Yoo Seung-jun emphasized, "Everyone, this size is quite large. It's not a small size." When an acquaintance said, "Mukbang YouTubers like Tzuyang eat 30 bowls," Yoo Seung-jun was surprised and responded, "Is that even possible?"
After finishing the ramen mukbang, Yoo Seung-jun concluded the video by saying, "That's it for today, and I will come back with the next mukbang content. Next time, I want to spend good time with you all with healthy food." It seems he plans to continue presenting mukbang content in the future.
Netizens who watched the video responded with comments such as, "Don't mind the malicious comments and stick to your strong opinions," "Suddenly doing a ramen mukbang is so funny," "Six bowls of instant noodles, I'm worried," and "It's nice to see you smiling."
Meanwhile, Yoo Seung-jun debuted in the music industry in 1997 with the song "Scissors" and gained great popularity with hits like "Na Na Na," "Passion," and "I Hope You Find It." However, he became embroiled in controversy over evading military service after acquiring U.S. citizenship before his military enlistment in 2002.
After being exempted from military service, Yoo Seung-jun has made efforts to enter Korea, including filing a lawsuit in 2005 to cancel the refusal of visa issuance. In 2015, he applied for an F-4 visa for overseas Koreans that allows commercial activities in Korea, but the U.S. Consulate General in LA refused to issue the visa, leading him to file an administrative lawsuit to cancel the visa refusal.
After a long legal battle spanning about 20 years, Yoo Seung-jun won at the Supreme Court in March this year, but his visa was again denied by the LA Consulate General in July.
During this time, Yoo Seung-jun has expressed his opinions through YouTube videos. In late October last year, he appealed to Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-hwa, saying, "Please reconsider my indefinite entry ban issue and now allow my entry." However, when Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Byung-joo proposed the so-called 'Yoo Seung-jun Prevention 5 Acts' on December 17 last year, Yoo Seung-jun expressed his anger and rebutted through his YouTube channel just two days after the bill was proposed on the 19th.
Yoo Seung-jun's YouTube channel, which has maintained an aggressive stance criticizing the Ministry of Justice, politicians, and the media, has grown to about 80,000 subscribers.
