[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Actress Noh Hyun-hee opened up about her marriage and feelings at the time of her divorce from her ex-husband Shin Dong-jin.
On the 19th, Noh Hyun-hee appeared on TV Chosun's "My Love To You" and revealed that she got married due to encouragement from people around her. She said, "People around me said it was okay, and I wanted to be filial to my mother, so I decided to get married."
She said, "They say it's a show window couple. I see my father about once every ten years, and he noticed that my married life was difficult. My father sent a letter titled 'Reasons to Divorce My Daughter' to the announcer's office. That's how we got divorced," she shared.
Noh Hyun-hee confessed that after the divorce, she suffered from severe social anxiety due to malicious comments and rumors.
Noh Hyun-hee recalled the difficult times, saying, "After divorcing my ex-husband, at first, I was struggling because I was the only one being heavily criticized. I became the center of controversy just because I married a decent person," referring to rumors such as infertility.
She added, "I had to endure all the world's insults alone. It was so hard that I even tried taking sleeping pills, but I was fine. They didn't swallow and remained in my mouth."
Also, Noh Hyun-hee said to Shin Dong-jin, "Since we once had a connection, I hope he lives well."
Noh Hyun-hee married Shin Dong-jin, a former MBC announcer, in 2002 and divorced in 2008. Shin Dong-jin left MBC last December, remarried in 2019, and became a father to a late-born son last year, which also became a topic of interest.
