Appointment of Jeong Byeong-mun as the 6th Director of the Gwangju Transportation Disadvantaged Mobility Support Center

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Gwangju Transportation Vulnerable Mobility Support Center (Chairman Park Nam-eon) announced on the 19th that they have appointed Jeong Byeong-moon, former co-representative of the Korea Federation of Organizations of the Disabled, as the 6th director.

The Gwangju Transportation Vulnerable Mobility Support Center formed an executive recommendation committee following the resignation of the previous director in November last year. After announcing the recruitment for the director position and conducting document and interview evaluations, they recommended two candidates. With the board's consent, Chairman Park Nam-eon, who holds the appointment authority, appointed Jeong Byeong-moon, who was the first-ranked candidate among the two recommended.

Chairman Park Nam-eon stated, “Director Jeong Byeong-moon has no legal disqualifications for appointment and is judged to be the right person with abundant field experience as a social welfare expert and a deep understanding and sensitivity toward people with disabilities.”

Meanwhile, the Gwangju Transportation Vulnerable Mobility Support Center, launched in 2008, operates 116 dedicated vehicles and 97 dedicated taxis, supporting over 500,000 trips annually for people with severe disabilities, serving as the “feet of the transportation vulnerable.”
