[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Allegations regarding Chinese top actress Zheng Shuang's surrogacy and abortion coercion have surfaced all at once. The mainland was shocked by the revelations from Zheng Shuang's ex-boyfriend Zhang Heng.

On the 18th (local time), Zhang Heng posted on SNS, "It is not true that I fled to the United States. I had to protect the lives of two young children. I will definitely protect these children."

Following this, claims arose that the mother of the two children Zhang Heng is caring for in the U.S. is Zheng Shuang. A close acquaintance of Zhang Heng told local media, "According to the birth certificates Zhang Heng posted on Weibo, the mother of both children is registered as Zheng Shuang."

According to this, Zhang Heng and Zheng Shuang, who publicly acknowledged their relationship in August 2018, married in the U.S. in early 2019 and hired two surrogate mothers to give birth to daughters in December of the same year and January of the following year. At the time, rumors of marriage surfaced, but Zheng Shuang denied them, saying, "It is not true."

It is speculated that divorce talks between the two arose around the seventh month of the surrogate pregnancy.

In particular, a close acquaintance of Zhang Heng also released a recording containing discussions between Zheng Shuang, her parents, and Zhang Heng's parents about the unborn children.

In the recording, a man presumed to be Zheng Shuang's father advocated for abortion of the children, while Zhang Heng's father strongly opposed it, calling it a 'crime.' Zheng Shuang's mother mentioned adoption of the children.

Additionally, Zhang Heng raised the children alone in the U.S., and although the expiration date of Zhang Heng's U.S. visa approached, Zheng Shuang, the mother of the children, did not proceed with the visa issuance process for the children, reportedly preventing Zhang Heng from returning to China.

Recently, it was revealed that the two, who were once lovers, broke up and that Zheng Shuang filed a lawsuit against Zhang Heng, which shocked the public once again.

Regarding this, Zheng Shuang stated on SNS on the 19th, "It is such a sad and private matter that I did not want to speak about it in front of many people, but as it gradually became exposed like this, I had no choice but to respond."

Zheng Shuang said, "Since the year before last, legal teams in both China and the U.S. have not given up on protecting the legitimate rights of me and my family, and we have never ceased communication with the other party. In the U.S. legal process, we repeatedly refused to expose private matters and took the lead in defending our rights in the U.S. legal procedures."

Finally, Zheng Shuang explained, "As a celebrity, I am well aware of the importance of epidemic prevention in our country. In mainland China, I did not violate the state's directives, and abroad, I respected all laws. If I publicly clarify all unverified information, this will be the most sincere response," denying any illegal acts.

Meanwhile, Zheng Shuang debuted in 2009 through the drama 'Yi Ji Lai Gan You Xing Yu.' Since then, she has appeared in various works. Notably, Zheng Shuang gained great popularity by starring in the Chinese version of 'Boys Over Flowers.' She also became known domestically through 'Mi Mi Yi Suo Hen Jing Cheng' and the Korea-China joint drama 'Bi Cui Yeon In' alongside actor Lee Jong-suk.
