[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yuseonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon District, participated in the 'Children's Traffic Safety Relay Challenge' on the 18th.

The Children's Traffic Safety Relay Challenge was initiated by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to prevent traffic accidents in child protection zones and to spread a culture of practicing traffic safety.

The relay, in which participants nominate the next participant through SNS, is spreading nationwide.

Yuseonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon District, who was nominated by Yudeokyeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun District, posted a certification photo on SNS holding the traffic safety message "Stop at 1, Look to 2 sides, Wait for 3 seconds, Prevent 4 dangers."

Mayor Yuseonghun nominated Lee Seong, Mayor of Guro District, Kim Jeongtae, Chair of the Seoul Metropolitan Council's Steering Committee, and Chae Inmuk, Chair of the Seoul Metropolitan Council's Planning and Economy Committee as the next participants.

Mayor Yuseonghun of Geumcheon District said, "Through daily practice, we must create a future for Korea where children are safe and happy," and added, "To create a living environment where children's safety is prioritized, not only will the district implement traffic safety policies, but we also ask all residents to participate together through daily practice."

Meanwhile, the district is making efforts to achieve zero child traffic accidents by installing traffic safety facilities such as ground traffic lights, pedestrian crossing voice guidance aids, and signal speed enforcement cameras around child protection zones and major school routes, as well as strengthening illegal parking enforcement within child protection zones.
