Specialized Education Expenses for High School Graduates: Apply by Next Month 28, Support Starts in March
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Goheung-gun, Jeonnam Province, has decided to use the Nae Sarang Goheung Fund not only for startup funds and housing repair costs for "returning youth" but also for the settlement of "local youth."
According to Goheung-gun on the 18th, starting this year, the fund's support targets will be expanded to help local youth establish a foundation by providing support for specialized education expenses for high school graduates, rental fees for farmland for young farmers, youth employment support funds, and youth startup congratulatory money.
The specialized education expense support for high school graduates is a project that supports 50% of specialized education expenses such as heavy equipment, welding, beauty, and driving (excluding type 1 small and type 2 licenses) for graduates who did not enter college. It can provide up to 3.6 million KRW annually, and applications will be accepted until February 28, with confirmation scheduled for March.
The young farmer farmland rental fee support is for youth aged 19 to 49 (new or farmers cultivating 2ha or less) who rent farmland from the Korea Rural Community Corporation. It supports up to 1 million KRW annually for three years within 50% of the rental fee for 1ha or less, with applications accepted year-round.
The employment support fund provides 500,000 KRW once to youth aged 19 to 49 who get employed at businesses with five or more employees in Goheung-gun. The startup congratulatory money provides goods worth 100,000 KRW to youth who newly start a business in Goheung-gun upon application.
Additionally, in the second half of this year, the fund will be used to expand projects such as the Youth Challenge Project for skill development and livelihood stabilization of local youth, Goheung-style business succession support for youth, and youth CEO marketing activation support.
A county official said, "We will make good use of the Nae Sarang Goheung Fund to increase the number of returning youth and prevent local youth from leaving for cities by focusing on job creation and improving childcare conditions."
Meanwhile, the Nae Sarang Goheung Fund was established and is being operated by Song Guigun, the 7th-term elected governor, who is actively responding to youth inflow and population decline issues, aiming to raise 10 billion KRW by 2022, with 9 billion KRW currently raised.
