[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Kim Jong-in, Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, pointed out on the 18th that the government's third disaster relief fund is insufficient to compensate for the losses of small business owners and self-employed individuals.

At the Emergency Committee meeting that day, Chairman Kim said, "The main principle should be to focus support on affected industries and affected business owners, and the government must first clarify its position on this point."

Chairman Kim emphasized, "It is naturally necessary to compensate for losses caused by social distancing measures based on the sacrifice of the people, such as forced business restrictions that deprive business owners of their freedom, deprivation of choice, and infringement of the right to pursue happiness in daily life."

Chairman Kim stated, "When the third disaster relief fund was discussed at the budget National Assembly at the end of last year, the government took a very stingy stance and barely secured a budget of 3 trillion won, and this year it increased to about 9 trillion won," adding, "(With this amount) it is absolutely difficult to make up for the losses of self-employed individuals and small business owners."
