Damyang-gun and Chonnam National University Sign Business Agreement to Revitalize Agribusiness


[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang County, Jeollanam-do (County Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 18th that it recently signed a business agreement with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Chonnam National University to revitalize the agricultural industry and promote cooperation.


The county and the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Chonnam National University pledged to establish a joint cooperation system for improving crop varieties and breeding facilities for local specialties, enhancing the durability and efficiency of agricultural materials, improving working conditions in response to rural aging, and attracting and educating returnees to farming and rural areas.


According to this business agreement, the county plans to actively cooperate in discovering cooperative projects for community development and improving difficulties in the local agricultural industry sector.


The signing ceremony was conducted in a non-face-to-face manner by signing the agreement in each institution's office and exchanging it due to social distancing measures.


County Governor Choi Hyung-sik said, "I am confident that this business agreement will serve as a stepping stone to enhance the competitiveness of Damyang agriculture in response to the changing times," and added, "We will continue to strengthen the capabilities of local agriculture through ongoing business agreements with neighboring institutions."
