Geoje-si Extends Social Distancing Level 2 for 2 More Weeks

Geoje-si Extends Social Distancing Level 2 for 2 More Weeks

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Geoje City, Gyeongnam Province, will extend social distancing Level 2 from the 18th to the 31st in accordance with the government's standard non-metropolitan quarantine guidelines.

Accordingly, special quarantine measures such as banning private gatherings of five or more people, limiting reservations at lodging facilities to two-thirds capacity, prohibiting gatherings at entertainment facilities, and banning gatherings at party rooms and Hold'em pubs will be maintained.

Additionally, unmanned karaoke rooms are subject to the same restrictions as general karaoke rooms, including prohibition of gatherings and designation of quarantine managers. Group rooms in reading rooms and study cafes are limited to 50% capacity, and operations must cease after 9 p.m.

However, some relaxations apply to cafe operations, religious activities, winter sports facilities, and the operation of convenience facilities within apartment complexes.

Cafes and restaurants may operate on-site from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., with cafe visits limited to within one hour.

Religious facilities may hold in-person services with attendance limited to 20% of the seating capacity for regular worship, but facility-hosted gatherings or meals are prohibited.

Winter sports facilities are limited to one person per 8 square meters.

Convenience facilities within apartment complexes and educational lecture programs at community centers, which had been suspended, may resume operations.

A city official stated, "Considering the season when the virus transmission rate is high, the risk of re-spread within the region still remains," and added, "We ask everyone to actively practice mask-wearing and social distancing."
