UPI and Overseas Mobile Payment Service Launch
Global NFC Merchant Payments and Transportation Services Available
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Shinhan Card announced on the 18th that it has expanded its overseas mobile payment service to UPI, following Visa and MasterCard.
Any Shinhan Card customer can easily use cards registered under Visa, MasterCard, and UPI brands worldwide at NFC merchants through Shinhan PayFAN. In particular, by utilizing the overseas mobile payment service, users can make payments via Shinhan PayFAN at all NFC-enabled terminals, including local general merchants, vending machines, and duty-free shops, without carrying the physical plastic card.
Additionally, transportation services are available in major overseas cities such as London, Guangzhou, and Singapore, allowing users to conveniently use the service without the hassle of purchasing tickets each time they board.
A Shinhan Card official stated, "Starting with the nation's first smartphone NFC payment service, Shinhan PayFAN, which has led mobile payments, is evolving into a payment platform that covers both domestic and international markets by expanding overseas brand partnerships. We will continue to do our best to establish ourselves as the most preferred comprehensive lifestyle finance platform for customers amid the changing financial environment."
