Gangnam-gu Opens 'CU Saessak Store' to Support Vulnerable Groups' Self-Reliance

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) has opened the ‘CU Saessak Store’ to create jobs for vulnerable groups.

‘CU Saessak Store’ is a social contribution project aimed at providing jobs to basic livelihood security recipients. Gangnam-gu partnered with BGF Retail in November last year to start its operation.

Ten residents belonging to the Gangnam Regional Self-Support Center work in pairs of two as store owners, and they can receive incentives if they achieve daily sales targets.

Gangnam-gu provides jobs to vulnerable groups in the region through the Regional Self-Support Center to help them achieve economic independence. Depending on the employment creation effect of the Saessak Store, the operation period will be extended, and additional Saessak Stores will be opened.
