[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] Not only public offices or social welfare facilities, but also general institutions such as companies, large shopping malls, and religious facilities will be able to replace the creation of COVID-19 entry logs with a single phone call.
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 17th that the 6-digit phone number starting with 14 (140000) for entry log purposes will be expanded for use by general companies and institutions. When calling a number starting with 14, visitor and visit date/time information is automatically recorded, making it easy for anyone to use.
The Ministry of Science and ICT had previously limited the application of numbers starting with 14 to local governments and medical facilities, but since the demand in the public sector has been partially met and requests from general companies and institutions have increased, the application target for 14 numbers will be expanded to the private sector.
Companies, institutions, and stores wishing to use a number starting with 14 can apply to telecommunications companies starting from the 18th. The number of available numbers is set at 9,000. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
