Issued to volunteers with over 100 hours in 2020... Valid for 2 years, from March, up to 10% discount at local lifelong learning centers and public sports facilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) has been issuing the ‘Outstanding Volunteer Certificate’ since 2021 to enhance the pride of volunteers who continuously practice sharing and to recognize their social value.
The issuance target is volunteers who have logged more than 100 hours of volunteer work in the previous year according to the 1365 Volunteer Portal.
Qualified volunteers can visit the Gangdong-gu Volunteer Center (1089 Cheonho-daero, 7th floor, Gangdong-gu) and submit a photo ID and application form to receive the certificate immediately.
The application and issuance period is from January 18 to March 31, and the certificate is valid for 2 years.
From March, the district will provide volunteers holding the ‘Outstanding Volunteer Certificate’ with discounts of up to 20% on program fees at the Gangdong-gu Lifelong Learning Center and up to 10% discounts on lesson programs and practice usage fees at public sports facilities within the district.
Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon of Gangdong-gu said, “The Outstanding Volunteer Certificate embodies our respect for volunteers who have consistently participated in volunteer activities over a long period,” adding, “It will serve as an opportunity to spread the value of volunteering and further activate interest and participation in volunteer activities.”
