[Asia Economy Reporter Hana Na] The police investigation of a man in his 30s, a resident who caused public outrage by assaulting an apartment security guard in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, resulting in serious injuries, has been postponed.

On the 17th, the police announced that apartment resident A (35), who was booked without detention on assault charges, is scheduled to be questioned on the 18th.

The police had planned to summon A around 7 p.m. on the 15th for questioning, but A requested a change of the attendance date due to hiring a lawyer, and the police accepted the request.

A is accused of assaulting security guards B (60) and C (58) at the back gate of an apartment in Janggi-dong, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi Province, around 11:40 p.m. on the 11th.

At the time, A, who was sitting in the front passenger seat of a friend's car, suddenly got out of the vehicle after the security guard said, "Unregistered vehicles must use the main gate," and caused a disturbance by spitting on the guard's face and throwing a chair from the guard post.

A did not stop there; he struck B in the abdomen and hit security guard C in the face, causing a nasal bone fracture and serious injuries.

After the assault incident became known, about 200 apartment residents submitted a petition demanding strict punishment for A's abusive behavior.

The police stated, "After questioning A and comprehensively assessing the extent of the assault, we plan to apply for an arrest warrant."
