On the afternoon of October 22, 2020, one day before the opening of the '2020 Paradise Art Lab Festival,' artist Moon Jun-yong, son of President Moon Jae-in, explained his work to the press at Paradise City in Yeongjongdo, Incheon.
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seok-jin] Moon Joon-yong, son of President Moon Jae-in, won a lawsuit demanding the disclosure of investigation records related to Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the People Power Party, who was prosecuted without indictment after raising allegations of preferential hiring at the Korea Employment Information Service.
According to the legal community on the 17th, the Seoul Administrative Court Administrative Division 14 (Chief Judge Lee Sang-hoon) ruled partially in favor of Moon on the 15th in a lawsuit filed against the head of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office to cancel the refusal to disclose information.
The court ordered the disclosure of all requested information except for some sensitive personal data.
The court stated, "It is difficult to see that disclosing the requested information would expose the general investigation process of crimes such as violations of the Public Official Election Act, and there is no likelihood that disclosure would cause obstacles to the investigation."
In April 2017, ahead of the presidential election, Rep. Ha raised allegations of preferential hiring of Moon at the Korea Employment Information Service. The Democratic Party then accused Ha of violating the Public Official Election Act by spreading false information to defeat the presidential candidate and reported him to the prosecution.
However, in November 2017, the prosecution decided not to indict Ha and closed the case. Subsequently, Moon requested the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office to disclose related investigation records and information but was refused, leading him to file a lawsuit.
Meanwhile, prior to Moon, Rep. Ha also filed two administrative lawsuits against the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office demanding the disclosure of investigation information and won all cases.
