Gyeongbuk Province, Agricultural Specialty Products Shopping Mall 'Saiseo' Lunar New Year Special Exhibition ... "Up to 60% Discount"

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 17th that it will hold a "Seol Holiday Special Online Promotion" from the 18th to February 10th on the Gyeongbuk Province agricultural specialty product shopping mall "Saiseo" to expand sales channels for agricultural products struggling due to the resurgence of COVID-19.

This promotion is being held to expand sales channels for agricultural products and to commemorate Saiseo achieving a record high sales of 16.4 billion KRW last year. According to Gyeongbuk Province, all items listed on Saiseo Mall will be sold at a 20% discount off the selling price, and an additional 5% discount will be offered for bulk purchases.

In particular, to promote sales of excellent small and medium-sized enterprises in the province facing difficulties due to the social distancing upgrade, Saiseo and Sillarion are jointly participating with about 40 companies offering 100 items including red ginseng extract, organic spoon sets, and natural rayon scarves, with discounts of up to 30%.

Additionally, to pioneer new markets for regional agricultural specialty products, Saiseo Mall will be introduced to the exclusive mall for 8,000 employees of Samsung Electronics Gumi Plant, where about 30 sixth-industry certified companies and a total of 100 items on Saiseo will be offered with discounts up to 30% during the Seol holiday. Furthermore, large online shopping malls such as Naver, Post Office Shopping, Kakao, and SSG.com will simultaneously conduct large-scale Seol holiday discount events.

Along with the Seol holiday promotion, regular events offering discounts up to 60% such as demand specials and one-day specials will be held, and a 3,000 KRW discount coupon providing up to 20% support for new member sign-ups will be issued. Various practical gift sets including agricultural, marine, livestock products, and processed foods will be prepared for the online promotion.

Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, stated, “By minimizing the distribution stages of agricultural products, producers can sell at fair prices, and consumers can purchase high-quality agricultural products at reasonable prices. We will continue to spread a campaign for fair prices and fair consumption.”

Meanwhile, as non-face-to-face consumption has become routine due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and its resurgence, Saiseo’s sales have significantly increased. Compared to 2019, the number of registered farms increased by 86% to 1,073 farms, and the number of members increased by 383% to 34,000. Also, the number of listed products increased by 22% to 4,942 items, and sales increased by 94% to 16.4 billion KRW, showing a strong growth trend.

This year, the sales and membership targets for Gyeongbuk hometown market Saiseo are 25 billion KRW and 50,000 members, respectively.
