[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 16th, as of midnight, the cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases increased by 20 from the previous day to 2,761.


In Gumi, one person related to a nursing academy tested positive before being released from self-quarantine, and four others who had contact with existing confirmed cases also tested positive. In Pohang, four people, and in Gimcheon, three people tested positive after contact with existing confirmed cases.


In Goryeong, three people who had contact with confirmed cases from Daegu tested positive, and in Gyeongsan, one person who had contact with a Daegu confirmed case and one overseas entrant tested positive. In Andong, one healthcare worker was confirmed positive after being tested due to COVID-19 symptoms.


Additionally, one confirmed case each was reported in Sangju and Chilgok. In Gyeongbuk, the number of community infections reported in the past week totaled 110, averaging 15.7 new confirmed cases per day.
