[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] The suspicions surrounding Hwang Hana, the granddaughter of the founder of Namyang Dairy Products, and her drug charges are becoming increasingly perplexing. Hwang’s husband and an acquaintance involved in drug distribution have both made mysterious extreme choices, and Hwang herself tested negative in the first drug test after being detained on drug charges. Meanwhile, an audio file reported by MBC revealed that Hwang was confident she would test negative even if she underwent a drug test.

On the 15th, MBC Newsdesk reported that they obtained an audio file in which Hwang Hana expressed confidence that she would be unaffected even if she took a drug test.

According to the report, in the early morning of the 16th of last month, Hwang suddenly showed up at the home of Mr. Nam, a drug distributor, in Gangnam, Seoul. At the house were Mr. Nam, his partner Ms. Kim, and Hwang’s husband Mr. Oh.

Hwang hurled insults, accusing them of hiding her husband and neglecting his drug use. Hwang shouted, "***a ya, what are you doing, are you kidding? ** You did drugs ***a, in this situation, hey, you are doing drugs ** don’t take his side."

Earlier, in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, Hwang was confident that her drug test would come back negative.

During a conversation about drugs, Hwang said, "OhOO (Hwang’s husband), if you didn’t take drugs and the (drug test) kit shows it, I will apologize to you."

When Kim, Mr. Nam’s partner who later made an extreme choice, replied, "(If the test is positive) it means you did it with your sister," Hwang emphasized, "I will never test positive. I will never test positive."

However, as Hwang said, after being detained on the 7th on charges of drug use and theft, police hair tests confirmed no drug substances were detected. The confident tone in the audio file was thus clearly reflected.

Regarding this, the police are focusing on the possibility that Hwang obstructed proper testing through bleaching and dyeing her hair. Additionally, during last year’s search, police secured a syringe with Hwang’s bloodstains, affirming there is no problem proving the charges, and they announced plans to investigate drug sales charges as well.

Furthermore, in additional recordings obtained by MBC, there is evidence that Hwang was aware of intimate details of drug crimes.

Hwang said, "OhOO stole 1 kilogram of K (drug slang) from NamOO, so my brother sent people from Suwon. Will you testify or not?" She also mentioned the name "Vatican," the leader of the country’s largest drug distribution organization.

She said, "Brother, this is speakerphone. That’s Vatican’s (drug) 1 kilo. Brother stole 1 kg from Vatican OhOO. This is a recording."

There was also a tip claiming that Hwang met the drug organization’s leader in person.

The tipster said, "Hwang Hana opened up to Vatican about distributing (drugs). Mr. Nam met Hwang Hana once at the OOO hotel."

Meanwhile, the police have yet to determine why Hwang’s husband Mr. Oh and drug distributor Mr. Nam made extreme choices. The police have not yet secured Mr. Nam’s mobile phone.
