[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced on the 15th that the third round of emergency employment stabilization funds for recipients of the first and second rounds has been fully disbursed.
From the start of the third emergency employment stabilization fund payments on the 11th until the morning of this day, a total of 279.1 billion KRW was paid, with 500,000 KRW each to all 558,134 eligible recipients.
For some payments not yet completed due to errors during bank transfers, account information will be re-verified and payments will be made as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Employment and Labor announced the implementation of a program for new applicants who did not receive the first or second round of support on this day.
Among those who did not receive the first or second round of support, 1 million KRW will be provided to certain self-employed and freelancers with income below a certain level who are experiencing economic difficulties due to the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Applications can be submitted from the 22nd until the 1st of next month via the application website (covid19.ei.go.kr) or by visiting a nearby employment center on the 28th, 29th, or the 1st of next month.
