Sahmyook University Launches 'Sahmyook Village Project' to Revitalize Care Economy

Sahmyook University Launches 'Sahmyook Village Project' to Revitalize Care Economy Provided by Samyook University

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Samyook University announced on the 15th that it has completed the development of the 'Samyook Village Project' online platform to revitalize the care economy and will fully launch the project.

On the 14th, Samyook University held the 'Samyook Village Project Performance Presentation' via YouTube Live and unveiled the dedicated platform 'SU-DolbomShop'. The Samyook Village Project is a business where students directly develop care services and list them on an online platform to match with beneficiaries in the local community.

Participating students first learn care theory through a professional education program and participate in field training. Afterwards, they devise ideas themselves to develop creative care services. The developed care services are listed on the online platform SU-StudentShop, and when beneficiaries apply for desired services on the platform, these services are provided accordingly.

After performing care services, a portfolio is created on the online platform, which is used as career management material for the students. Based on this accumulated experience, students with expertise in the care economy and care service fields can turn their services into business models through startup consulting and even establish social enterprises.

Last year, Samyook University cooperated with Nowon-gu to pilot the Samyook Village Project, resulting in 157 students participating and providing care services to 64 vulnerable people in Nowon-gu. With the launch of this dedicated platform, Samyook University plans to strengthen cooperation with Nowon-gu and expand the scope of community contribution and care services nationwide.
