[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Samsung Electronics announced on the 15th that it received a total of 173 awards, including 44 CES Innovation Awards, at the world's largest IT exhibition 'CES 2021' held from the 11th (local time) to the 14th. The company was also recognized in numerous media awards selected by major global media outlets.

In the TV category, which won the 'CES Best Innovation Award' for 10 consecutive years, the next-generation TVs ‘Neo QLED’ and ‘Micro LED’ achieved excellent results.

Neo QLED is a mini LED TV first unveiled by Samsung Electronics on the 7th through ‘Samsung First Look’. It applies mini LEDs that are 1/40th the size of conventional LEDs to the backlight. It provides the best viewing experience with Samsung's proprietary technologies ‘Quantum Matrix Technology’ and ‘Neo Quantum Processor’.

This product was selected as the 'Best of CES 2021' by CNN, Digital Trends, Engadget, CNET, Wired, and others.

CNN praised, “Neo QLED, which delivers excellent upscaled image quality without light bleed, convinces me that it is the best TV surpassing all existing TVs.” Digital Trends commented, “Neo QLED offers black levels comparable to OLED while delivering overwhelming brightness and the best HDR experience.”

Micro LED Wins CES Best Innovation Award

The Micro LED TV won the 'CES Best Innovation Award' and was selected as the ‘Best of CES 2021’ by media outlets such as Digital Trends, GearBrain, and IGN.

These media praised the Micro LED TV, which uses ultra-small LED elements at the micrometer (㎛) scale that emit both light and color by themselves, as a next-generation technology that allows viewers to experience natural image quality as if seeing real objects.

In the home appliances category, various products such as the ‘Family Hub’ refrigerator, ‘Bespoke’ refrigerator, ‘Bespoke’ water purifier, and robot vacuum cleaner ‘JetBot AI’ received CES Innovation Awards and numerous media awards.

The JetBot AI, which made its debut at this CES, was selected by CNN as the ‘Best Home Appliance at CES’, by Reviewed.com as the 'CES 2021 Editors’ Choice Awards', and by Digital Trends as the ‘Top Tech of CES 2021’.
