Expansion of 49 Types of Online Databases Provided by the National Library of Korea


On the 14th, the National Library of Korea announced that it will expand its collection of domestic and international online databases available for use online, including e-books, newspapers, magazines, videos, audio files, and academic materials, to a total of forty-nine types. The newly added databases include seven types such as MBC Video Archive, Korean Studies Information Service System (KISS), and Cambridge University Press. Anyone with a regular library membership card can access them on the website. An official stated, "In order to support online cultural activities during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have prepared a variety of online databases across different fields," adding, "Users can search various types of materials including text, images, audio, and video, and can print or download abstracts and full texts." They also added, "The external access period for academic and professional databases such as DBpia and Sage has been extended until June."
