[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province will increase the Cultural Nuri Card support fund by 10,000 won starting this year, providing an annual support of 100,000 won per person.

The Cultural Nuri Card is a card that supports basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups aged 6 and above (born on or before December 31, 2015) who have difficulty participating in cultural arts, domestic travel, and sports activities due to economic conditions.

According to the province on the 13th, if the Cultural Nuri Card holder maintained eligibility last year, the card will be automatically recharged between the 20th and 22nd of this month without a separate application process, and can be used from February 1 to December 31.

New applications can be made from February to November at eup, myeon, and dong community service centers, through the Cultural Nuri website (www.mnuri.kr), mobile app, or by phone (1544-3412).

There are 1,499 affiliated online and offline stores in the province, and support totaling 6,796,800,000 won will be provided to 67,968 eligible Cultural Nuri Card holders aged 6 and above.

Meanwhile, last year, the province's Cultural Nuri Card usage rate reached 92.04% of the budget, with Inje-gun ranking first nationwide with a usage rate of 99.84%, which is a 16.3 percentage point increase compared to the previous year.

Han Young-seon, Director of the Culture and Arts Division, said, "As COVID-19 prolongs, we will strive to revitalize the local economy and improve user convenience by discovering new affiliated stores and expanding the Ddarreung delivery service."
