[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) announced on the 13th that it has secured 482 million KRW in national funds after being selected for the 2021 Senior Social Contribution Activity Support Project contest hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The Senior Social Contribution Activity Support Project is a job creation program that supports retired professionals aged 50 to under 70 to donate the knowledge and know-how they have accumulated over the years.
Accordingly, Buk-gu is recruiting institutions and organizations to participate in this year's project, selecting executing agencies by February, and providing jobs to 233 middle-aged and senior professionals with a total project budget of 536 million KRW from March to December.
Participants in the project will carry out social contribution activities in various fields such as culture, arts, and welfare to revitalize the local community.
Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, "I hope this project will help resolve the manpower shortage faced by non-profit organizations and social enterprises, and we will continue to actively support the social economic activities of middle-aged and senior citizens with experience and expertise."
