Yangsan City Receives Excellent Grade for 'Citizen-Centered Open Civil Service Administration'

Joint Evaluation by Ministry of the Interior and Safety & Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission: 'Grade Na' Improved by 2 Levels Compared to 2019

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Yangsan City, Gyeongnam, was selected as an excellent grade in the '2020 Comprehensive Civil Service Evaluation.'

The comprehensive civil service evaluation is conducted jointly by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission to provide proactive, demand-centered civil services desired by the public.

Grades are determined through relative evaluations by institution type, including central administrative agencies, city/provincial education offices, and metropolitan/basic local governments, classified into five grades (Grade A 10%, Grade B 20%, Grade C 40%, Grade D 20%, Grade E 10%).

This evaluation was conducted on civil service tasks performed from October 2019 to September of last year, covering 18 indicators across 5 items in 3 areas: civil administration management foundation, civil administration activities, and civil service performance. The city improved two grades from 'Grade D' last year to 'Grade B.'

In particular, the grievance civil service processing area received the highest evaluation, and excellent evaluations were received across all fields including statutory civil services, civil service office environment, and the level of processing in the National Petition System.

Mayor Kim Il-kwon said, “It seems that the promotion of citizen-centered open civil administration has resulted in good outcomes,” and added, “We will continue to actively work with all employees to provide civil administrative services that satisfy and impress citizens and to improve quality.”
