[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Gwangju Metropolitan City Civil Service Training Institute announced on the 13th that it will conduct the 2021 1st term training for newly appointed candidates for two weeks starting from the 18th.
The "Newly Appointed Candidate Training" is an educational program for prospective public officials who have passed the Gwangju City local civil service recruitment exam to learn the attitudes required as public officials and acquire basic practical knowledge. The 1st term training will target 55 people.
The training will be conducted non-face-to-face to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
In the first week, using cyber content, trainees will learn public service values such as the code of conduct for public officials, sexual harassment prevention, understanding multicultural society, and innovative growth. In the second week, through real-time video education, they will acquire basic practical knowledge such as budget accounting, civil service work, and system usage.
The City Civil Service Training Institute plans to conduct the newly appointed candidate training once in March and three additional times from October to December this year according to the public recruitment schedule for civil servants. Upon completion of the training, trainees will be assigned to the city and five autonomous districts to be deployed to field work.
Kim Ae-ri, head of the City Civil Service Training Institute, said, "I hope that newly appointed candidates will firmly build the foundation of their public service life through the training," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that newly appointed candidates have no inconvenience in receiving the training."
