Eunpyeong-gu Provides Eco-friendly Agricultural Product Packages Worth 410,000 KRW for 12 Months to Pregnant Women

410,000 KRW initial supply, additional 70,000 KRW support possible upon budget increase... Online applications open from 10 AM January 25, first-come, first-served, 1,227 spots available

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it will provide eco-friendly agricultural product packages worth 410,000 KRW (with a 20% co-payment) to pregnant women for 12 months.

The packages consist of organic livestock products, pesticide-free agricultural products, organic processed foods, and pesticide-free raw material processed foods. This year, Eunpyeong-gu will recruit 1,227 participants, accepting applications on a first-come, first-served basis from 10 a.m. on January 25 until 6 p.m. on December 31.

Eligible recipients are mothers who gave birth after January 1, 2020, and currently pregnant women. Applicants who are beneficiaries of the Nutrition Plus program at the time of application are excluded from selection. (Overlapping benefits with the Nutrition Plus program are not allowed even after selection for the package program.)

This year, packages worth 410,000 KRW, which can be used until the end of the year, will be supplied first starting from January 25. If additional national supplementary budget is secured, an extra 70,000 KRW will be provided, making a total of 480,000 KRW worth of eco-friendly agricultural product packages.

Applicants currently receiving support from the Nutrition Plus program are restricted from receiving duplicate support. However, after the Nutrition Plus program support ends, they can apply for this program and receive the same support.

The ‘Eco-friendly Agricultural Product Package for Pregnant Women’ can be purchased at designated online malls. Purchases can be made up to 4 times per month (16 times per year), with each purchase ranging from a minimum of 30,000 KRW to a maximum of 100,000 KRW. By paying 20% of the order amount, the package can be delivered to the desired location.

There are two types of packages: a selectable type where pregnant women can add needed items to their shopping cart and order directly, and a pre-assembled type configured according to price range and items.

Online applications can be made through the Pregnant Women Eco-friendly Agricultural Product Shopping Mall website. Once confirmed as eligible, packages can be purchased at the designated online mall.
