[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] As the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) intensifies, 'Luxteel Bio,' Korea's first antibacterial color steel sheet, is being continuously selected as a safe interior material for COVID-19 screening clinics.
Dongkuk Steel's Luxteel Bio was first applied as an interior material for the screening clinic at Jeil Hospital in Miryang, Gyeongnam, through the construction company SM Tech in September last year, and was subsequently supplied to the screening clinics at Miryang Public Health Center and Haman Public Health Center.
This year, it is being manufactured for the screening clinics at Hanmaeum Changwon Hospital and Pohang Joeun Seonrin Hospital.
Dongkuk Steel's Luxteel Bio has an exclusive license agreement with 'Microban,' the world's number one antibacterial solution company, and is the only product in Korea allowed to use 'Microban' antibacterial additives in Dongkuk Steel's color steel sheets.
Luxteel Bio is widely applied as interior and exterior materials in spaces closely related to daily life and sensitive to bacteria, such as biosimilar factories, operating rooms, food companies, and semiconductor factories.
Through special processing, it can be implemented not only on solid color steel sheets but also on color steel sheets with various printed patterns and three-dimensional textures, allowing consideration of design as a significant advantage.
