Integrated Science Program on Space, Life, Matter, and Earth... First 50 Elementary 3rd and 4th Graders Registered... Applications Open Until January 15 on Nowon Space School Website
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) is operating a non-face-to-face online science exploration class at Nowon Space School.
This program, which explores scientific phenomena related to space, life, matter, and Earth through experiments, consists of a total of 8 classes held twice a week.
In the 'Space' section, participants learn about the distances of planets in the solar system and stars; in 'Life,' about the bones and eyes of our body; in 'Matter,' about light refraction and methods of separating mixtures; and in 'Earth,' about the Earth's internal structure and continental drift.
The recruitment target is 50 third- and fourth-grade elementary school students regardless of their place of residence.
Applications are available on the Nowon Space School website until the 15th of this month. The tuition fee is 30,000 KRW per person, and enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Once registration is complete, class materials are delivered by courier, and the class video URL is sent via text message to the participants.
In case of non-receipt of class materials due to incorrect address input, materials will not be resent. Also, viewing the classes is not possible after the education period (January 26 to February 23), so applicants should carefully review the precautions before applying.

It is equipped with exhibition halls that overview the history of space and humanity, a planetarium, an observatory, an audiovisual room, and classrooms. It leads science education by offering various science programs such as nighttime star observation programs and invited science lectures, in addition to general admission.
District Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “By learning about various scientific phenomena through experiments, children will be able to develop an interest in science, which often feels difficult,” and added, “I hope everyone has a fulfilling winter vacation through the non-face-to-face online science exploration class.”
