KOSHA: "Send 'Safety' Emojis via Smartphone"
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The pictogram character ‘Anjeli’ emoticon, which delivers industrial safety messages on KakaoTalk, is being created.
The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (Chairman Park Doo-yong) has decided to produce and distribute for free the newly redesigned character ‘Anjeli’ emoticons and themed wallpapers to foster a consensus on industrial safety in daily life and to spread a safety culture.
The emoticons express 16 types under the theme of ‘Safe and Healthy Daily Life.’ They include everyday expressions such as ‘Hello’ and ‘Good job,’ as well as accident prevention-related pictograms like ‘Danger’ and ‘Safe Driving’ for use on KakaoTalk.
Additionally, one background image is included so users can decorate their KakaoTalk background with the Anjeli character.
The ‘Anjeli’ KakaoTalk emoticons and wallpapers can be downloaded by accessing separate event pages prepared for each.
The emoticons will be provided to the first 20,000 applicants, and those who complete a quiz on fall accident prevention will receive a text message within a week with instructions on how to download the emoticons.
The agency’s character ‘Anjeli’ was first created in 1999 and was newly renewed last year.
The newly reborn Anjeli was featured last year in the safety song ‘SAFE’ music video, which involved the K-POP girl group ‘Oh My Girl.’ In this video, ‘Anjeli’ introduced stretching choreography suitable for before work or during breaks at the workplace, gaining attention.
A representative from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency said, “We hope that Anjeli, returning in a stronger form, will accompany many people in their daily lives as a messenger of ‘safety and health.’”
