[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Ulsan Dongbu Fire Station (Chief Kim Jae-hwa) has published a fire safety management manual that organizes the disaster response system of large shipbuilding companies.

The companies for which the manual was published by Dongbu Fire Station are Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard. The publication plan was established in February last year, and it was produced through meetings with company officials and on-site inspections of the companies.

The manual is composed of fire safety management methods specialized for shipbuilding companies. It includes fire risk assessment management for all fire targets within large shipbuilding companies and fire response strategies suitable for the specific characteristics of ship fires.

A Dongbu Fire Station official said, “With the publication of the fire safety management manual, it is possible to quickly secure fire response strategies and tactical materials tailored to the structural characteristics of ships,” adding, “We expect that proactive response to ship fires will enable the establishment of fire safety infrastructure.”
