[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Kia Motors announced a new beginning toward the future mobility era by unveiling a new logo and brand slogan.
On the 6th, Kia held a ‘Logo Unveiling Event’ through digital channels to reveal the new logo and brand slogan. The event featured a total of 303 drones creating the new logo in the sky by emitting fireworks.
Through this event, Kia set a Guinness World Record for the ‘most unmanned aerial vehicles launched simultaneously with fireworks.’ The unveiling event can be viewed on Kia’s YouTube channel and the global brand website.
Kia’s new logo and slogan are part of the mid-to-long-term strategy ‘Plan S’ announced last year. It reflects Kia’s determination to establish a leading position in the future mobility industry through business restructuring.
The new logo representing Kia’s new brand direction was developed based on three design concepts: ‘Symmetry,’ ‘Rhythm,’ and ‘Rising.’ First, ‘Symmetry’ expresses confidence in presenting new customer experiences by not only satisfying customers in existing business areas but also providing future-oriented products and services.
The second concept, ‘Rhythm,’ embodies the will to continuously change according to customer demands, just as the lines of the logo are all connected as one, and promises to continuously deliver moments that inspire customers. Lastly, ‘Rising’ signifies the passion to leap forward as a truly customer-centric new brand.
Song Ho-sung, President of Kia Motors, said at the unveiling event, “The newly introduced logo symbolizes Kia’s determination to lead change and innovation,” adding, “In the automotive industry environment undergoing a great transformation, we hope you will watch Kia’s new image and future that will proactively respond to changing future mobility needs and inspire customers’ lives.”
Meanwhile, along with the new logo, Kia presented a new brand slogan, ‘Movement that Inspires.’ The previous Kia brand slogan was ‘Power to Surprise.’ Kia plans to hold a ‘New Kia Brand Showcase’ on the global YouTube channel from 9 a.m. on the 15th to reveal more detailed brand directions and strategies, including the slogan.
