[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Jinju City Daycare Center Association in Gyeongnam has joined the 'Good Prepayment Campaign' with about 230 members in the district to help small business owners and self-employed people struggling with the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The Good Prepayment Campaign is a campaign where people prepay at frequently used restaurants, stores, and shops, and then revisit to practice good consumption when social distancing is eased. Currently, 28 cases totaling over 6.5 million won have been prepaid.
Chairperson Lee Yeon-sook said, "We hope this small effort will help small business owners and self-employed people who are struggling due to the sharp decline in sales caused by the spread of COVID-19 and the strengthening of social distancing," and added, "We plan to continue participating in the campaign until the situation improves."
A city official stated, "To protect children from COVID-19, the association has proactively cooperated in individually packaging and distributing quarantine supplies several times since early February, enabling timely support of quarantine supplies to all preschool children in our city."
Meanwhile, the Jinju City Daycare Center Association was established in 2005 and contributes to the welfare improvement of daycare children and childcare staff as well as the development of childcare. It also actively participates in social volunteer activities every year, enhancing the pride of its members.
