[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The national average price of gasoline has surpassed 1,400 won per liter (ℓ). As of the afternoon of the 26th, the gas station with the cheapest gasoline price in Seoul is the S-OIL Hyundai Gas Station located in Sinwol-dong, Yangcheon-gu.
According to the Korea National Oil Corporation's oil price information service Opinet, the S-OIL Hyundai Gas Station in Sinwol-dong, Yangcheon-gu (372 Nambusunhwan-ro) is selling gasoline at 1,358 won per liter. Diesel is priced at 1,158 won. Following that, the SK Energy gas station in Sinwol-dong, Yangcheon-gu (442 Nambusunhwan-ro) recorded the second lowest price at 1,368 won per liter. Diesel there is 1,168 won.
The national average gasoline selling price was recorded at 1,403.08 won per liter the previous day, breaking the 1,400 won mark again. It has been about nine months since the national average gas station gasoline price exceeded 1,400 won, last occurring on March 29 of this year (1,403.83 won).
Domestic gasoline prices have also been on the rise since the 18th of last month (1,317.11 won), influenced by the increase in international oil prices following the development of COVID-19 vaccines. The weekly average increase in gasoline prices has continued to grow from 1.4 won to 8.2 won, 12.2 won, and 18.6 won.
