Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education, EBS 'Isop' Education Collaboration MOU ... Nation's First Use of AR·VR Content The scene of the business agreement between Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education and EBS.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education held a signing ceremony on the 23rd at the Office of Education for a partnership with the Korean Educational Broadcasting System (EBS) to promote artificial intelligence (AI) and software (SW) education as well as school media education, focusing on the use of the 'E-sop' platform and augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) content.

The signing ceremony was conducted online using a real-time interactive video conferencing platform connecting the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education and the EBS headquarters in Ilsan, due to the spread of COVID-19.

EBS's 'E-sop' is a nationwide software education cloud service officially launched in January 2020, supported by 4.5 billion KRW in construction costs from the Ministry of Science and ICT.

The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education plans to be the first in the nation to link the 'E-sop' platform with the curriculum, guiding its use for AI and SW education practice in local elementary, middle, and high schools, and actively utilizing it for various AI and SW-related online competitions and events.

Additionally, more than 100 types of AR and VR content owned by EBS will be secured as content for the School Media Education Center, scheduled to open in March 2022, to be used for student experience-centered media education.

Superintendent Kang Eun-hee stated, "Through this agreement, our Office of Education has established a foundation for AI education and secured content for the School Media Education Center."
