Surpassing 150,000 in Just a Month After Reaching 100,000, Industry First 'Rapid Increase'

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Hwajeong] Samsung Securities' YouTube subscribers have surpassed 150,000 for the first time in the industry.
According to Samsung Securities on the 22nd, as of the 21st, the number of YouTube subscribers exceeded 150,000 for the first time in the industry. This was achieved about a month after surpassing 100,000 subscribers on the 19th of last month, and compared to the trend of reaching 100,000 subscribers six months after surpassing 10,000 in May this year, the subscriber growth rate is noticeably accelerating.
The sharp increase in YouTube subscribers is attributed to the diverse content introduced by Samsung Securities. On the 19th, the official YouTube channel 'Samsung POP' hosted a live broadcast of the 'Overseas Stocks Untact Conference - Global Outlook,' which attracted 35,000 viewers. Notably, despite the live broadcast lasting three hours on YouTube, the number of simultaneous viewers reached about 5,000, showing strong enthusiasm from investors. Six leading analysts, including Jang Hyoseon, head of Samsung Securities' Global Stock Team, appeared at the conference to introduce innovative company themes such as platforms, electric vehicles, and biotech, as well as promising overseas stocks for 2021 like PayPal, Nvidia, and Disney.
Team leader Jang Hyoseon said, "We have been communicating with investors through untact seminars this year, but the enthusiasm was unprecedented in this seminar," adding, "Going forward, we plan to try various formats to create a deeper and more engaging investment consensus with more investors through untact seminars."
In addition to live broadcasts like this, Samsung Securities has recently been showcasing differentiated content on various topics by fully mobilizing in-house financial experts on its official YouTube channel.
Kim Sanghoon, Executive Director of Digital Marketing at Samsung Securities, said, "Recently, video channels like YouTube are rapidly replacing general information search portals," and added, "In line with this trend, we will develop it into a core communication platform in the untact era by providing video content not only on simple investment information but also on tax and real estate consulting, year-end tax adjustments, and various financial tips."
A survey conducted among investors who participated in the untact conference showed that Tesla (19.9%) and Apple (19.9%) were chosen as promising long-term overseas stocks to pass on to their children. Amazon (7.3%), Google (5.2%), and Disney (2.5%) followed.
About 76% selected domestic and overseas stocks as assets to increase investment in next year, and among respondents who chose stock investment, the preference ratio between domestic and overseas stocks was 4 to 6, with overseas stocks being more favored.
As promising investment sectors, 66% of respondents chose so-called advanced technology industries such as semiconductors, pharmaceuticals/biotech, and secondary batteries.
These survey results are not significantly different from a survey conducted earlier this month targeting CEOs and CFOs of listed companies, indicating that the spread of untact investment information content is raising the information level of individual investors represented by Donghak Ants and Seohak Ants to a higher standard.
