[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Tirobotics announced on the 16th that it has completed the production facility for semiconductor robots with an annual production capacity (CAPA) of 30 billion KRW and held an opening ceremony, starting full-scale operations from this month.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the completion ceremony was a modest event attended only by key executives.
A Tirobotics official stated, "The semiconductor robot division completed this time was planned in response to the rapid increase in investment and demand in the semiconductor market. To this end, Tirobotics decided to invest in semiconductor facilities at its 1st plant located in Gajang-dong, Osan City. Construction began in September, and within about three months, a cleanroom of 1000 class was established on an area of 1000 square meters (approximately 300 pyeong), creating a new production facility with an annual capacity of 30 billion KRW."
The official added, "Some production will start this month, with the related department employees having moved in and completed testing. From next year, when the facility is fully operational, we expect significant growth in the semiconductor business division, making next year the second growth leap for Tirobotics."
With the completion of the 1st plant in Gajang-dong, Tirobotics anticipates substantial semiconductor sales starting next year.
Tirobotics is a specialized robotics company. In addition to robots for semiconductors and displays, it has recently expanded its robotics domain through continuous investment and development in food tech robots, rehabilitation robots, and logistics transfer robots.
