Dobong-gu to Prevent Illegal Nighttime Garbage Dumping... 27 LED Logo Projectors Installed

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) completed the installation of 27 'No Illegal Dumping Logojectors' on the 14th to prevent illegal dumping in dark alleyways.

The district recognized the limitations of existing warning signs and banners in preventing illegal dumping in dark alleyways at night, so it applied Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) by introducing logojectors?LED video promotion devices that project desired images and text onto various surfaces such as walls, floors, and ceilings by projecting light through image glass (glass lenses).

The newly installed logojectors project two rotating messages on the ground: "No Illegal Dumping of Trash" and "No Dumping Outside Designated Trash Disposal Areas."

This is expected to contribute not only to preventing illegal dumping at night but also to crime prevention on dark streets.

From October to December, the district installed a total of 27 logojectors.

The installation locations include habitual illegal dumping areas and neighborhoods with disputes over trash disposal, such as Dobong-ro 139-gil 102, Samyang-ro 596, and Uicheon-ro 48-gil 12.

In particular, 16 narrow alleys where installing CCTV for illegal dumping prevention was difficult were targeted to eliminate blind spots for dumping.

Additionally, 11 areas with frequent neighbor disputes due to improper household waste disposal were selected for supplementary installation.

Going forward, the district will conduct quarterly inspections for thorough management and is reviewing plans to link the logojectors with illegal dumping prevention CCTV to maximize preventive effects.

Furthermore, the district is striving to create a pleasant residential environment through activities such as operating illegal dumping crackdown teams, campaigns for proper household waste disposal, and installing illegal dumping prevention CCTV.

Mayor Lee Dong-jin of Dobong-gu stated, “We hope that the back alleys of residential areas suffering from illegal dumping will be brightened and cleaned through the installation of logojectors. We will continue to carry out projects to establish a proper trash disposal culture and create a pleasant street environment.”
