Nambu University Selected as an Excellent University for Consulting in College Liberal Arts Education Improvement

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Nambu University announced on the 14th that it was selected as an excellent improvement university in the ‘2020 University Liberal Arts Education Consulting’ conducted by the Korea Foundation for University General Education, affiliated with the Korean Council for University Education.

‘University Liberal Arts Education Consulting’ is a project that provides expert consulting to help develop liberal arts education at universities nationwide and evaluates follow-up measures.

Nambu University received an excellent evaluation in the follow-up monitoring results after undergoing the basic consulting in 2017 and the advanced consulting process in 2018.

To solidify competency-based liberal arts education, Nambu University made innovative efforts such as completely reorganizing the liberal arts education curriculum completion system and separating and promoting the Liberal Arts Education Institute that operates the liberal arts education curriculum.

In particular, ▲ writing courses linked with extracurricular programs ▲ research on standard lecture plans for liberal arts courses ▲ performance management of competency-based liberal arts education received favorable evaluations.

Chosungsoo, President of Nambu University, said, “The experience of consulting with the Korea Foundation for University General Education twice greatly helped reorganize Nambu University’s dedicated liberal arts education organization and improve the liberal arts education curriculum, and we will continue to do our best to enhance the quality of liberal arts education.”

Lee Yuri, Director of the Liberal Arts Education Institute at Nambu University, said, “This award is meaningful as it officially recognizes the fruits of our university’s efforts to improve liberal arts education so far,” and added, “We will continue efforts to systematize and improve the quality of the liberal arts education curriculum in the future.”
