Suncheon-si Should 'Out' Companies Targeting Only Private Contracts from Agricultural and Industrial Complexes

Suncheon-si, Juam Nonggongdanji Must Be Developed into a Competitive Strong Small and Medium Enterprise Complex

Suncheon-si Should 'Out' Companies Targeting Only Private Contracts from Agricultural and Industrial Complexes

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Recently, Suncheon City completed a survey on factories and manufacturing companies within the jurisdiction, including Juam Industrial Complex, and it is known that administrative measures will be taken against some companies.

According to Suncheon City on the 11th, this survey was conducted through direct site visits to verify whether factory registrations matched the actual sites and to use the data as basic information to revitalize the local economy through systematic management and support.

Based on the results of this survey, the city plans to continuously monitor and guide factories with registration discrepancies to update their registrations, and take strong administrative actions against factories with false registrations.

In particular, Juam Industrial Complex has been criticized for having some factories that were falsely registered or not actually operating in order to secure direct contracts with Suncheon City and other local governments.

Additionally, there have been ongoing suspicions and complaints that companies in the same industry have colluded to take turns demanding direct contracts from Suncheon City and have signed contracts as if they were being allocated.

Along with this, it is known that contracts have been signed more frequently within categories formed by family or acquaintances, and certain specific businesses have ignored contract laws by allowing only specific companies to participate in contracts, causing continuous issues, while external companies have been excluded from contract opportunities.

If the essence of the industrial complexes, which is to increase income in rural and fishing villages, has been distorted, it is time for the supervisory body, Suncheon City, to immediately correct this.

A city official said, “Through this survey, competitive factories should be nurtured and supported as strong local enterprises, but there are criticisms that companies relying solely on direct contracts through illegal or irregular methods must be strictly punished.”

He added, “It is time to prepare a foundation for factories producing new products aligned with the city’s ecological economy to grow into strong enterprises.”
