40s Who Fired BB Pellets at Pedestrians Receive 'Fine'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] A man in his 40s who repeatedly fired a toy gun at passersby was sentenced to a fine in the second trial, following the first trial.

The Changwon District Court Criminal Division 1 (Chief Judge Choi Bok-gyu) dismissed the appeal of A (45), who was tried on charges of special assault, and announced on the 5th that he was sentenced to a fine of 1.5 million won, the same as in the first trial.

In April last year, A fired a BB gun several times at a victim in his 20s standing by the roadside in front of a factory in Miryang, Gyeongnam.

The court stated, "Compensation for the damage has not been made, and forgiveness has not been received from the victim," and "There are no special circumstances or changes in conditions to warrant changing the sentencing of the original trial."
