320 Billion KRW for Mudflat Network and Bbailbae Road Project to Realize Beolgyo Integrated Tourism Road
740 Billion KRW for Boseong-eup City Gas Supply Project, a 10-Year Wish of Boseong Residents
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Boseong County, led by County Governor Kim Cheol-woo, made continuous visits to various central government ministries and the National Assembly over the course of a year to explain the rationale and advantages of projects in order to secure national funding smoothly.
On the 4th, Boseong County in Jeollanam-do announced that it secured a total of 290.5 billion KRW in new community-based projects linked to the Korean Green New Deal in 2021 to enhance residents' welfare and secure sustainable growth engines.
With this national funding secured, it is expected to serve as a stepping stone for advancement by not only promoting current projects but also creating synergy with existing projects.
In particular, the urban gas supply project in Boseong-eup, which was the residents' top priority project, is the largest single project since the establishment of Boseong County, with a budget of 74 billion KRW.
The major projects secured in 2021 include the Rural Agreement Public Contest Project (43 billion KRW), Marine Mudflat Ecology Network Construction and Trail Development (17 billion KRW), Beolgyo~Jangdo Mudflat Cockle Road Theme Road Construction (15 billion KRW), Marine Protected Area Conservation (3 billion KRW), Beautiful Island Cultivation Project (6 billion KRW), Rural Living Water Development (32.5 billion KRW), Local Fishing Port Geumnung Port Maintenance Project (3.8 billion KRW), Family Center Construction (3 billion KRW), Green Tea Special Zone Connecting Road Expansion and Usan District Hazardous Section Opening (5.1 billion KRW), Urban Regeneration New Deal Project (13.6 billion KRW), Steep Slope Maintenance Project (1 billion KRW), Beolgyo Public Parking Lot Maintenance (4.8 billion KRW), Deukryang Bay Clean Fishing Ground Regeneration Project (5 billion KRW), Sewerage Maintenance Project (32.5 billion KRW), Shinheung Hill Imjin War Park Construction (0.5 billion KRW), Ecological Green Tourism Project (0.2 billion KRW), Forest Fire Prevention Forest Management (0.8 billion KRW), and Rapid Promotion of Gyeongjeon Line Electrification from Boseong to Suncheon Section (29.7 billion KRW).
Governor Kim Cheol-woo urged, “Referring to the recently published national funding acquisition activity manual, please do your best to discover new projects based on Boseong’s future strategic projects by analyzing the economic feasibility and effectiveness of projects so that proposals can be made to central government ministries for securing national funding in 2022.”
