Recruitment of 18 Youth Households and 12 Artist Housing Tenants from 7 to 16... Contributing to Youth Policy Development and Cultural Arts Revitalization through Regular Community Activities
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is recruiting tenants for Cheongchun Gaok (youth single-person housing) and public rental housing for artists.
Since the launch of the 7th local government, the district has been promoting a demand-tailored rental housing supply project aimed at expanding youth housing and implementing customized residential welfare policies. In September, it completed 18 units of Cheongchun Gaok in Nangok-dong (Beobwon Danji 10-gil 5) and 12 units of artist housing in Miseong-dong (Beobwon Danji 5-gil 34).
A district official stated, “To ensure stable residence and enhance happiness for homeless, low-income youth and artists, we have actively cooperated with SH Corporation since last September, laying the groundwork to promote housing stability for residents.”
Applications will be accepted for 10 days from the 7th to the 16th, with winners announced on March 26, 2021. Contracts with SH Corporation will be signed from April 19 to 23, 2021, and move-in will begin on May 3.
Eligibility requires all members registered on the resident registration certificate to be homeless household members, with income (below 70% of the previous year’s average monthly urban worker income) and assets verified through the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Social Security Information System. Tenants will be selected based on priority.
Rental conditions are set at 50% or less of the market price, with a lease period of two years. Renewal is possible if eligibility is maintained.
Details such as rent and exclusive area can be found in the announcement on the Gwanak-gu Office website (News → Notices).
In particular, after moving in, tenants are required to create their own community rules and engage in regular community activities to revitalize the community, contributing to the discovery of youth policies in Gwanak-gu and the promotion of culture and arts, thereby fostering local community development.
Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form after checking eligibility and rental conditions on the Gwanak-gu Office website (News → Notices) and sending it via email (Youth Housing: jwbalex@ga.go.kr, Artist Rental Housing: seo3260@ga.go.kr).
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “By supplying public rental housing for youth and artists struggling due to COVID-19, we will reduce the housing cost burden for vulnerable groups.” He added, “We expect that community activities of public rental housing tenants will contribute to discovering youth policies in Gwanak-gu and revitalizing local communities through arts and cultural activities.”
